What is it?
Assistive Technology Lab
It is a lab made up of ten computers and a collection of adaptive equipment specifically designed for students with more significant disabilities. The lab is staffed with a trained paraprofessional.
Why was it created?
It was created to offer students with significant disabilities access to adaptive equipment and programs. It can serve a whole class which enables them to work on class activities. It was also added to provide ESE self-contained teachers a planning time.
What is in it?
Hardware ranges from keyboards, trackballs, joysticks, touch screens augmentative communication devices and environmental controls. Software ranges from educational to text-to-speech.
